IZZY’S QUEST FOR GOLD
It’s not very often that you get asked to come up with an image for a children’s book based in Northumberland a bit different to photography Ipswich – especially when you’re a Suffolk photographer and there’s no real hills around for miles
Never one to be put off by small details, I agreed to help local author Angela Taylor with an image for the cover of her latest book, Izzy’s Quest for Gold.
It couldn’t have worked out any better as I was able to provide a couple of children for the shoot (it just so happened that my own children were exactly the right age) and also that we were off on a family holiday to Snowdonia the very next week. So I had children and hills covered – what more did I need?
I managed to get a really nice image of the kids, although the Welsh weather didn’t make things easy and we had to wait for a gap in the rain before I could take the pictures. I edited the image when we got home, adding in a swooping kestrel and altering the children’s appearance slightly (although they were very excited at being on a real life book cover.)
Angela was very pleased with the image and the book is on sale now. You can buy it from Amazon here: Izzy’s Quest for Gold
