Suffolk Dog Photography
Tail wagging, drooling, creative, unique, dog photos.
Capture those precious images of the family pet and producing stunning pieces of doggy art work for your home.
I love taking photos of my dogs – they are endlessly entertaining subjects and are always happy to pose for a camera..... well for some treats or a ball. All of my dogs are different breeds and it’s really fascinating to get that perfect shot that really seems to reflect each of their unique personalities.
I find it really rewarding when I manage to capture the special connection between a human and their beloved pet. It’s that sort of image that people treasure as a gift or just a reminder of that fantastic human and animal bond.
I take a variety of shots on a shoot some natural light and some with the new Profoto B2 lighting set up which captures truly amazing well light images. If we can manage to get the Golden Hour at sunrise or sunset, that’s even better. I use the very best quality Canon 5D Mk3 with a big sensor for creating those big prints. High-spec L-series lenses, so I have the benefit of ultra-fast focusing, which means I can catch even the fastest dog in action!
Dog photography and Equestrian Photography in Suffolk
I use a few of my very favourite locations across Suffolk for my Suffolk dog photography, equestrian photography and family photoshoots – these are mainly woodland areas, lakes, fields and the stunning Suffolk coastline, which is absolutely perfect for quality photos to produce fantastic art work for your home.
If you have a special spot that you’d like me to visit with you to take pictures of your dog, horse or family photos, I’m very flexible about locations (although I do have to charge for expenses at 45p per mile after 30 miles from my home in Bildeston, Suffolk.)
An average shoot takes about an hour. I’ll stay until I know we’ve got some really good shots that will produce amazing pieces of art work for your home.
LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY IN SUFFOLK
I’m proud to say that I’ve received the ‘Highly Commended’ award twice in the Suffolk Wildlife Trust photo competition – the first time with ‘Amy loves worms’ - a cute image of my daughter holding a bunch of worms for the ‘children in nature’ theme, and she also featured in the second photograph, which was of pond dipping. I’m hoping for a hat-trick at some point!
I’m open to any suggestions for locations for my lifestyle photography shoots.
Quirky Lifestyle Photography in Suffolk
I once shot a 40th birthday party in a disused church. We took pictures at the altar, filled the font with ice and bottles of Champagne and it was a really great, inventive shoot.
Another time, I was booked for a pre-Christmas outdoor lifestyle shoot but the weather was atrocious. We had a hurricane style storm on the day but couldn’t postpone as Christmas was too close. I improvised and took the kids into the woods for shelter. Although it was incredibly muddy, and the children lost their wellies in the mud, it was a fantastic, fun shoot. The children were so excited and had so much fun, and the client was thrilled with the shots.
I’ll shoot birthday parties and engagements – even cars, if you want your pride and joy immortalised. I also have a few very special locations for my signature sunrise and sunset images, locations that I know will give me the perfect opportunity to capture a stunning image.
One of my favourite images has appeared on a book cover! Local children’s author, Angela Taylor had set her book Izzy’s Quest for Gold in hilly Northumberland, and she needed an 11 year old boy and nine year old girl. My children were the right age; but Suffolk is far from hilly. Luckily, we were visiting Snowdonia, so despite more bad weather, I managed to get pictures of the children walking down Snowdonia. They were really excited about being on a book cover.
I use a Canon 5D Mk3, with L-series lenses, and from an average shoot I’ll produce hundreds of images. I choose the best 60 and edit them to make sure that you get the best pictures possible.
